Watch A Froggy Fable

What is the main idea? (Also can be called the moral of the story or lesson. ) What is the author trying to tell or teach the reader? Main Idea Tutorial

Modification: Feel free to tell your child the main idea of the story. For example, say, "This is a story about a character who learns to accept changes in his life." Discuss the important events in the story that support the main idea? You may like to have your child recall the events in the story as well as the point in the story when the Froggy changed his feelings about the changes that happened to him. Help your child make personal connections and talk about the positive events that can happen as a result of change.

Practice your “I messages” after watching A Froggy Fable.

“I feel….

When....

Because…

I want….”

For example, “I feel sad when I don’t see my friends at school because I like spending time with them. I want to write a letter to my friends so I can stay in touch.”
