Worland- The Warriors had their first home meet on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
Due to weather, the track meet was pushed up to starting at 1:00. Despite this, the meet went well for the Warriors with senior Kalistynn Crippen winning first in the 100 meter dash race. Fourteen schools competed at this meet.
WHS Coach Josh Heinemeyer stated, “I was really proud of our girls Timber, Crippen, and Cherise for automatically qualifying for state.” Heinemeyer believes everyone just needs to keep working hard. There were also a couple of injuries, but Heinemeyer hopes they will be ready for the next meet.
Senior Chris Martinez participated in the 100m, 200m, and 400m sprints. Martinez commented, “I’m happy that I performed well for the 400. I want to train harder for the 400 to break the 49 second barrier."
Freshman Casey Ridenour hopes to compete in the mile and 800m. Ridenour has this to say about the mile: “I love the mile. It’s not mid distance, it’s just an enjoyable run.”
The Warriors' next stop for track and field is in Powell on Thursday the 16th of April.
