Board of Directors Medical Student position- Elections held in the spring annually
Committees- They have a Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) taskforce, a resolution committee that will go through all resolutions submitted online, and a few other ones. They typically have at least one medical student representative.

- WAFP (Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians):
Lots of committees! And there is really no applying into them- if you want to be a part of it, you can be! The Legislative Committee is the most active and advocacy-focused.
Legislative Committee: The most active committee and advocacy-focused. They have monthly meetings on the phone (7-8 am) that focus on current or upcoming bills in the state legislature and what our position should be on them.
Student and Resident Leadership Committee: This committee is currently being revamped but the goal is for this to be a place for residents and students to communicate about advocacy, how to get more involved, advocating for learners, etc.
Board of Directors- there are typically 1-2 residents on the board. The board meets 3-4 times per year, virtually or in-person. If it is in-person, they try to visit different parts of the state. They discuss membership, engagement, finances, goals for WAFP, and innovative ways to move the organization forward
- AAFP (American Academy of Family Physicians):
Lots of committees, opportunities to be delegates to different organized medicine groups including the AMA.
