Inbasket Routing Checklist

  1. Review clinic routine pools (RN, MA/LPN, schedulers, pharmacy, lab, etc)

  2. MA/LPNs: Route regarding refills, communicating information like straightforward results to patients. In general, if you want a medical staff person to communicate with a person to relay results, gather information, etc, route to the the MAs/LPNs (not the PSRs or RNs).

  3. RNs: Responses to triage messages, INR management

  4. PSRs: schedule concerns, completed paperwork (if you get a phone encounter that needs paperwork completed, route to the PSRs/schedulers when the paperwork is complete).

  5. Prior authorization team: Route prior authorization requests to the prior authorization team rather than to pharmacy
