  • Lab pathology ordering (pap smear, dermatopathology for skin lesions)

  • When in doubt, go to the lab to ask the staff a question


MA/LPN-30 min

  • MA-provider huddle

  • Rooming overview (what does the MA do to room a patient-vitals, updates med list, pends orders, etc)

  • Ordering vaccines/injections (If you want to INJECT, use a SMART SET)


Patient Service Representatives (reception)-30 min

  • Scheduling overview

  • Schedule within teams

  • Check-out/follow-up instructions after a visit


Referrals-30 min

  • Learn how to enter referrals

  • Learn referrals process (what does the referrals coordinator do after a referral is placed?)

  • Review e-consults

  • Review special circumstances/referrals (sleep studies, etc)

  • Review referrals limitations based on payor status

  • Referrals prioritization (routine, ASAP)


RN Care Coordinator

  • Which patients are chosen to have an RNCC?

  • How does RNCC partner with clinicians?

  • Roles of the clinician vs RNCC?


RN (team RNs)-30 min

  • Triage

  • Maternity care/OB patients

  • INR patients


X-ray-15 min

  • Only x-rays are done in clinic

  • What is the process for sending a patient to X-ray in your clinic

  • Review how to order imaging

  • X-ray staff helps to schedule imaging like US, CT, MRI

  • Be specific in your order with why you need the image, what you want to image, and how soon you need it to be done

  • When in doubt, go to the x-ray room to ask the staff a question.
