We’ve had an incredible week filled with exciting lessons and activities.
We practiced using different pronouns and uncovered the meaning of foreshadowing in storytelling. Inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia, we began crafting our own fantasy stories, filled with imaginative worlds and thrilling plots. Our RE lessons focused on the story of Mary and her role as the chosen one, sparking insightful discussions about faith and the qualities of courage and trust. This week, we completed our Roman shields and practiced the iconic tortoise formation. In “What Have the Romans Done for Us?”, we explored the enduring legacy of Roman inventions and ideas that still influence our daily lives. In an engaging activity, we used our knowledge of electricity to solve clues and "escape the power station," honing our problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in the process. Our maths lessons introduced us to reading, measuring, and drawing angles with accuracy. We also investigated reflective symmetry, uncovering its beauty and logic in patterns around us. In PSHE, we learned about the rights all human beings share and discussed the importance of respect, equality, and dignity in creating a fair world for everyone.
Our highlight of the week!
Our trip to the London Guildhall and Mithraeum Museum brought history to life! At the Roman amphitheatre, we handled authentic Roman artefacts, learned about its fascinating history, and even acted out scenes as if we were there. In the afternoon, we visited the Temple of Mithras, discovered after WWII, and marveled at its connection to Roman London. This trip showed us just how much of ancient Rome still surrounds us today.
It’s been a fantastic week, and we’re excited for what’s to come next!
