The Daily Pow-Wow Staff

Meet the staff of The Daily Pow-Wow!

Mrs. Collins

Creator of the Daily Pow-Wow

Junior and Senior English teacher, Mrs. Collins created the Daily Pow-Wow in order to give a voice to the Western Local School District, and more importantly, to the students. She takes pride in her newspaper staff and appreciates the hard work they put into developing a digital newspaper that the entire community is able to enjoy.

In her spare time, Mrs. Collins enjoys crochet, paracord, shelling, and watching horror movies.

senior Reagan Hutchinson

Most people use one of my many nicknames such as Reag, Rae, Ragna, Regina, Ragar, Oregano, and many, many others.

I came to Western in the 7th grade.

I love reading and writing. My favorite thing to write is poems. I’ve probably written around 100 poems just this past school year. I’ve also started writing a couple books that have yet to be finished. My favorite books are romance and thrillers. I love drawing and painting even though I’m not the best at it.

After I graduate, I plan on going to college at the Scioto County CTC. I want to get my Nursing license and work in the same facility as my older sister. I also would like to write a couple books in my lifetime and become a New York Bestselling Author. I run the Holiday and Theatre page for the Daily Pow-Wow.

senior Desirae McJunkin

I have gone to Western since Kindergarten.  I spent the summer before my senior year working in food service and I currently work in food service.  Some hobbies of mine include drawing, writing, reading, and doing things outdoors.  I tutor Kindergarten children Monday- Friday.  Some things I like to do in my free time is go on long drives and hang out with my friends.  Something I like about our community is how everyone is so fast to help one another.  My future plans are to attend Shawnee State University and obtain a degree in Criminal Justice. I am involved with Western’s YLA, NHS, Heart of Western, prom committee, and more.

I volunteer a lot at Western too.  I couldn’t count on both of my hands how many times I’ve worked concessions for sports or for an event.  I really enjoy the environment and people at Western and I have made many good memories and friendships.  I’ll be sad to see it all go but I’m excited to graduate and start the next chapter of my life.
