ServICE (C)

This was my first servICE conference and I learnt a lot from it. I met a lot of new people and made new friends throughout the two days. But, most importantly, I learnt about the current global issues plaguing the world. As an introvert, talking about these issues with people have never met before seems daunting, but I came above that and participated in collaborative discussions and group activities. On the first day of servICE, we were split into different groups and I was in "poverty". There I learnt about the situation regarding the lack of food and resources and how it effects other nations. On the next day, there were seminars held and we could attend the ones we were interested in. I attended one that demonstrated how to not fail your project which taught me skills such as leadership and the importance of organization. Another one seminar I remember is about the survival of an immigrant and how their situation was. It really got me engaged in the issues and aware of the significance of global issues.
