NEW ZEALAND AWARDS:
Celebrating our New Zealand representatives or students who have won a New Zealand individual title .
At the 2023 WEGC sports prizegiving the students were recognised and received a Silver Fern with WEGC engraved on it to go on their blazers and students who have a NZ title or have represented NZ in a World or multi nation event received a picture frame that will be hung on our NZ honours board in the Sports centre. We thanks the parents association for their support of these frames.

Neve at the Sport Person of the Year awards was named as the College Sport Premier Swimmer of the year for 2023
Keira Rolston-Larking
Gymnastics
Keira was selected for the NZ Women’s Gymnastic Team that competed in the Oceania Gymnastics Competition in Australia.
Keira has also been named on the Olympic long list for 2024.

Scarlett Hardy
ARTISTIC SWIMMING
Artistic Swimming formerly known as Synchronised Swimming is a hybrid mix of swimming, gymnastics, and dance that challenges the participants in the water.
Scarlett represented NZ in the Koru Team at the Pan Pacific Artistic Championships in Hong Kong.
Siobhan Bolger and Tyla Pita Kani
SOFTBALL
Siobhan and Tyla were in the U16 Junior White Sox Team that toured to the USA this year.
Siobhan has also recently been named in the U18 Junior White Sox team and will be heading to American Samoa next month to play in the World Cup Regional Qualifier.
Brooke Assur and Lily Davies
FOOTBALL
Brooke and Lily were selected in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Football team for 2023 that travelled to the USA in April.
Kate Barham
Rowing
After Maadi, Kate trialled for the New Zealand Under 19 Rowing team that attended the Under 19 World Rowing Championships in Paris, August 2023.
Kate was part of the Rowing 8 team that made the A final where they placed 5th in the World.
Isla Morgan - FLOORBALL
Isla was a member of the NZ Women’s Floorball team that attended the Asia Oceania Floorball world cup qualifier in Thailand in January 2023.

New Zealand Secondary Schools Under 18 Double Sculls Champions
Kate and Ava at the Sport Person of the Year awards were named as the College Sport Premier Female Team of the year for 2023
TEAM - FUTSAL
New Zealand Secondary Schools Futsal Champions
25 teams from all around NZ. WEGC finished the tournament with 1 loss, 6 wins, scored 20 goals and conceded only 3.
The final was between Dio from Auckland played in a packed arena with a lot of home support. It was a well deserved 2-1 win.
Team members: Lulu Davies, Liv Deane, Amelie Deane, Lucy Downes, Daisy Fraser, Hayley Hicks, Jessie John, Molly Judd, Isla Morgan, Neveah Derbyshire, coaches Mike Deane and Mark Morgan.
