Josh Adams, Jennifer Goodman Sage, Philip Gray, James "Bill" Rogers, Zachary Schilawski
Josh Adams (Class of 2006): Josh participated in track and field and football during his years at CHS. He was a state qualifier multiple times in long jump and he also was a relay team member.
Josh's best sport was football. He was All-State from 2003-2005, a Shrine Bowl participant, and ranked 7th in state of NC for career rushing yards with 7, 220 yards.
He rushed for 2,888 yards and scored 174 points as a junior and rushed for 2,686 yards and scored 184 points his senior year.
After high school he went to Wake Forest University where he was voted ACC Rookie of the Year in 2007.
Philip Gray (Class of '87): Phil was an All-American/State champion wrestler for the Imps while also serving as Student Body President his senior year. He was NCHSAA State champion in 1987 at the 126 pound weight class. He was also awarded Metro Wrestler of the Year in 1987. While his collegiate career was cut short by a knee injury, he was a member of an ACC Championship team and was selected as first team Academic All-ACC freshman.
James "Bill" Rogers (Class of '53):
Jennifer Goodman Sage (Class of '99): Jenny was an honor student at CHS, captain of the basketball team and a key reserve off the bench. She was an All-State diver on Cary's Tri-Seven Conference swimming and diving team, and a Junior Olympic diving standout in the summer.
She was Tri-Seven Conference Diving Champion in 1996,1998, and 1999, Pepsi Scholar Athlete in 1996, Cary High School Diver of the Year 1996, All Conference, All Region and All State 1996, 1998, and 1999. Jenny was also a 4A Regional Diving Chanpion in 1998 and 1999 and a 4A State Silver Medalist in 1996 and 1999.
Zachary Schilawski (Class of 2006): Zack graduated from CHS in 2006 with a 5.12 weighted GPA, was an AP Scholar, All-American Scholar, News & Observer Scholar Athlete, 850 Buzz Scholar Athlete and all Conference Academic Scholar for 4 years.
Athletically, Zack was superior in his chosen sport of soccer...varsity soccer all 4 years, captain 3 years, MVP his senior year, All-Conference all four years, All- Region, All-State, All-South 3 years and All-American in 2005. He also played on the Olympic Development Team from 2002-2005 and CASL Elite Travel Team which was NC Champions from 2002-2005.
Zack went on to Wake Forest University on a scholarship where he also excelled academically and athletically.
Professionally, Zack was the number 9 draft pick in 2010 to the New England Revolution where he was the 1st rookie to score a hat trick in the home opener. Zack started 28 out of 50 games he played for the Revolution. He currently plays for the Carolina Railhawks.
