SEATING & Book Return
ALL Grades As students come in, take any books they are returning and place them inside the book return (there’s currently a “Closed” sign over the front opening). I told them yesterday that there would be NO checkin OR checkout today.
ALL Grades will sit in the Non-Fiction section. Seat students 3 at a time in line order to tables (ie: first 3 students in line should sit together at the front left table; the next 3 students in line should sit together at the next table close to the tv; the next 3 students in line should sit together at the front right corner table; etc). **The exception to this is 4th Grade for whom I made a seating chart. See it on the printed plans.**
CheckOUT Since students were able to checkout books yesterday (Thursday) you will NOT need to do checkout with any grades. I told them all yesterday that we would NOT be doing checkout today.
Plans
Digital Choice Board for 3rd Grade
This class (and the teacher) was instructed to bring their chromebooks and chargers to Media today. If they have their headphones/earbuds, great; if not, no big deal just ask them to keep their volumes turned down low.
After students are seated, they should turn on their devices, open Chrome and open a new tab. In the address box (aka, url box) they should type in the address for today. Please note that they must type it exactly as it is written on the board. I have left papers with the address written on them as well so that you can place one at each table.
Earth Day Videos & Worksheets for Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grades
Let the students know that Earth Day is on April 22 this year.
Play the three Earth Day Read Aloud videos. (Tabs are already open)
Earth Day Every Day https://youtu.be/qvdhsn-BFDI
I Can Save the Earth https://youtu.be/2Mkwhe6LOBo
How to Help the Earth by The Lorax https://youtu.be/lbUS3jPjyrc
After the videos
Kindergarten students will do the Trace & Color sheet
1st Grade students will do the Trace & Color Sheet and may also do the Word Search sheet.
2nd Grade students may do either or both of the Earth Day Word Search or Earth Day Crossword puzzle.
Read Aloud for 4th Grade
We’ve been reading There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom by Louis Sachar. You will continue reading where we left off yesterday. I’ve placed a sticky note in the book for Mrs. Gray’s 4th grade class Please place the sticky note wherever you stop reading.
Netsmartzkidz Interactive Activity for 5th Grade
This class (and the teacher) was instructed to bring their chromebooks, chargers and headphones or earbuds to Media today. They will need to open Chrome on their devices and go to https://www.netsmartzkids.org/activities/interactive/ I’ve also written this on paper strips to place at each table.
They will need to start with Episode One and complete each episode through Episode Six on their own.
You will need to walk around regularly to make sure that they are actually on that site.
End of Day
Shutdown any computers
Straighten tables & chairs
Go out and help at carpool, 3:45-4:15pm.
