Enrichment/Summer Opportunities (24-25)

Project SEED

The NC American Chemical Society's Project SEED is a cost-free, year-round science enrichment program for academically talented students. The program aims to motivate students with an interest in science to pursue terminal degrees. Project SEED offers a paid summer internship of $4,000 to first-year students. Selected students will be responsible for their daily transportation. Each student will be assigned to N.C. State, Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, N.C. Central or Campbell University.  Students do not select their university site. Senior students receive assistance with the college, financial aid and scholarship application process. The program's dates are June 16-Aug. 8 (Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day for 8 weeks).  Students unavailable for the duration of the program should not apply. 10. The student application and official transcript must be received by March 1; the chemistry teacher recommendation must be received by Feb. 17. Learn more about the program here.
