Warning of a scam: The WCPSS school system wants parents and students to be aware of a college admissions assistance program targeting area students. Several WCPSS have received a letter directing them to a website where they can sign up for a college admissions presentation. A counselor who researched the program found that families were being persuaded to sign up for a paid program and provide their financial information to get assistance. There are open complaints about this company with the Better Business Bureau. Please remember: Financial aid information is FREE, and families should not pay for any type of program that “sells” financial aid advice or guidance.
