Some would say that WWI caused WWII. Indirectly, yes it did. The devastation and economic loss from WWI did have an effect on WWII. Some would say the Treaty of Versailles that ended WWI, was very harsh on Germany and left Germany is economic ruin. People were starving and jobs were hard to find and the government was crumbling.
So with the political instability and economic ruin within Europe, Germany invaded Poland in September of 1939.
Another cause is fascism. Fascism is the belief that a dictator has all the power. Individual freedoms are denied.

The Lend Lease Act was approved in 1941, allowing President Franklin D. Roosevelt to lend or lease items to other countries without violating the condition of neutrality (keeping the United States fair or out of the world).
The United States was allowed to lend or lease items such as ammo, tanks, airplanes, trucks and food.
The United States gained military bases on Greenland and Iceland to help protect the shipping from German Sub attacks.
On December 7, 1941, a quiet Sunday morning, the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, HI was attacked by Japan. This event brought the United States into World War II. This was a surprise attack.
This attack killed many and destroyed a large amount of ships. Over 2,400 people lost their lives in the attack.
On December 8, 1941, President Roosevelt went to Congress and asked them to declare war. (Side note, Congress must declare war. The declaration of war can not come from a President. ) On Dec 8, 1941, Congress declared war on Japan.
