Nestled in the Northwest corner of Georgia, lays the Appalachian Plateau region. This region is known for fossil fuel (coal). It is the smallest of the five regions, encompassing (surround and have or hold within) all of Dade County.
The climate of the Appalachian Plateau is typical southern weather. Summers are hot and humid and winters are mild. Overall the Appalachian Plateau is a bit cooler due to higher elevations.
Agriculture of the region is small amounts of soybeans and corn.
The economic contribution of the Appalachian Plateau is the production of coal and limestone. Another economic contribution is tourism. There are such tourist activities like Rock City located in the Appalachian Plateau.

They have small farms in the Blue Ridge Mountain region. So the agriculture small farms, with large farm animals. Apples, corn and other vegetables are grown in this region.
Mining has always been important to the region, but today tourism is a big draw to the area.

The Piedmont region is located in the middle of the state. The state capital, Atlanta, is located in the this region.
The climate is your normal southern climate. Hot and steamy is the summer and mild winters.
Agriculture in this region is cotton, soybeans and wheat. Cattle and poultry (chicken) are also big producers in this area.
The Piedmont region has a ton of differnt types industries that bring money to the area. Some tof the differnet industries that have an economic impact to the region are farming, insurance, cars, planes and poultry processing.
The bottom half of the state consists of the region, Coastal Plain. The Coastal Plain is the largest region of Georgia. This is another great region for tourism, with the beaches and barrier islands.
The climate for the region is hot and steamy in the summer. For winters, they are extremely mild with little to no snowfall.
Agriculture for this region consists mainly of crops like onions, cotton, peanuts, and vegetables.
One main economic impact of the area is tourism, with the beaches and coastal areas. Other impacts are the lumber industry with pulp and paper industry and the deep sea fishing. The final economic impact is the deepwater ports of Savannah and Brunswick.
