Things changed after WWII. More people had moved into cities and manufacturing jobs. Farmers sold their farms and now we have less farmers, but the farms we have are bigger.
Other things that changed were the new technology for farmers. We now had things like tractors. Due to the new technology, we now had more large scale farming.
After the Boll Weevil and the drought, farmers were forced to diversify. Many farmers reduced the crops and started raising livestock, mainly poultry (chicken) and other livestock.
