Declaration of Independence
The ultimate break up letter
The 1st part is the Preamble, this stated the reason the colonist decision to separate from England. It stated “All men are created equal” and the there are natural rights we have that can’t be denied by the government.
The final part of the Declaration of Independence is where the colonist finally declared they were independent from England. This is what formed the United States of America.
A list of Grievances, it stated the complaints the colonist had against Britain. The biggest one was the taxation without representation. You know... from the Stamp Act.
Also, the quartering act was a large grievance. They were unhappy about housing British soldier.
