This image emerged from the question:
What was it like for you in lock-down?
I began by drawing a circle for work and a circle for home (neither of which can now be seen clearly in the image). The lines of the circles merged with a road going over a bridge. Beneath the bridge was a void and as I let my mind wander, making lines and shapes and creating without and end goal in mind, a bird emerged, its soft breast feathers being the comfort of home, the colours being those who came into my home via Zoom and the gold emerged in the space in between.
Start with a line or a shape or a colour and just relax into the creative process and see where it takes you.
Going through magazines, select colours, shapes images that you notice. What was your response when you noticed it. It may be something you like, something you dislike, something you are curious about...How does it work? What is it used for? Why would anybody want one of those? etc. Don't try to make sense of them just collect them. Once you have a collection, sort them, group them, stick them on paper. Once you are happy with your assemblage really tune into what you are noticing about the images and in particular, your response. Share your noticings with others in the group.
On a large piece of paper, draw a circle in the middle and divide the outer space into 3, 4, or 5, depending on how many people are in a groups. Without talking, begin by creating in your own space with the intention of creating a shared picture, a whole. After some given time allow your work to spread into the shared space in the middle of the page.
All of the time notice the process and what your response is to others and their work. what does it feel like when the others encroach on your space?
After completing the image, share your noticing with others.
Each member of the group begins a picture. After an agreed amount of time, pass that picture on to the person next to you and they continue with the picture. Again after an agreed time, pass the pictures onto a third contributor. This can continue as long as you want. The key thing for participants to notice is their ownership and response. What happens when someone does something to "my" picture that i had not planned for
Whilst music is playing, the facilitator invites the group to move into a space where they have freedom of movement.
They are then asked to move in a way that aligns with how they are feeling (if any anxieties etc.)
As they move, the facilitator suggests to move into the space, and to see if they can match up with another person, letting their movement evolve together and heal each other.
See what happens, let it develop organically until it reaches a natural conclusion.
After creating a piece of visual artwork, swap with a buddy and create a piece of work in response to their image.
In a group of two or more, create one shared piece in response to a word or idea.
Work with what sits in front and around you and notice how it sits together, works together, merges or resists .
