Using magazines, scraps of paper, bits and pieces collected from outside, recycling, whatever is available. Tear and stick, layer and add colour; you don't have to think about the product just enjoy the process...and then when you are done...pull together all the thoughts and wonderings, feelings and sensations that accompanied you during the making. If you are working with children ask them along the way. Why did you choose that colour? texture? image? I noticed you stop and look at that for a long time...what were you thinking? Encouraging them always to notice and potentially wrap language around the noticing, but at the same time, dont intrude on their process with too many questions.
