The 1998/99 Lady Vols Basketball season was marked by a string of injuries that plagued the team, making it a challenging year. Despite this, the team still managed to achieve a milestone as "The Meeks" - Chamique Holdsclaw, Tamika Catchings, and Semeka Randall - became the first trio from one team to be named Kodak All-Americans. However, the season came to an end in the regional finals with a loss to Duke, marking the end of the Holdsclaw era.
Holdsclaw herself went on to be selected as the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft, going to the Washington Mystics. She left an impressive legacy at Tennessee, having earned four All-American honors and leading the Lady Vols to three consecutive national championships.
In addition, Pat Summitt was honored with her induction into the inaugural class of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, recognizing her tremendous contributions to the sport and her remarkable career at Tennessee.
