In English class, I performed a skit based on “I Ask My Mother to Sing” by Li-Young Lee. This activity helped me understand the poem’s message about family, memory and culture in a deeper way. Instead of just reading the poem, performing it allowed me to connect emotionally with its meaning. Preparing for the skit required planning, practice and reflection. I had to think about how to use my voice and body language to show emotions. I also improved my performance by learning from feedback. This shows how I acted as a Strategic Learner as connected to MUIDS ESLOS by finding ways to improve my understanding and skills.
