We are taught that before entering the lab to do any experiments, we must plan ahead of time, and a FLOW CHART is a helpful depiction to comprehend the approach and processes in any of our studies. This skill is required to be an Articulate Communicator in ESLOS, as I used strategies that clarified, explained, and even dispersed information in a certain manner.
Scientific Methods & Characteristic of life 🐕🌱
In this poster project I get to apply the knowledge that I studied in class about scientific method to link with the characteristic of life. Therefore, I created this poster about dogs by testing if it is more suitable for being in the outside space or in a room in order to raise them well and encorage them to consume more food. Which for this poster, I get to work with friends to come up with these ideas. Moreover, I get to think in a process , step-by-step, by conducting this poster, it makes me become an Innovative Thinkers, connected to ESLOS, to explore beyond the limit in order to come up with the topic and all the experimental design.
Jelly Lab Experiment 🧫
This is the first LAB of the year, I get to learn how to use Electronic balance to measure the mass, plot the graph, making flow charts before entering the Lab and write the conclusion of the experiment . I got to test the Jelly weight in 4 different solutions and record the data every two minutes for 5 times.
In the end, we concluded that the mass of the jelly can increase or decrease depended on the specific solution we put it in. The higher concentration of the solution, the less the mass will be.
I get to become Strategic Learners because this was my first time conducting LAB, analysing data and drawing a graph was relatively difficult for me to do. However, I overcame those obstacles by working hard and reflecting on my own errors.
Biomolecules Lab ⚗️
In this lab, I get to explore the way different biomolecules ( starch, glucose , proteins and lipids ) react and the existance of them by the particular reagents. Moreover, we form a group and conduct our own Lab report which needs to include every single details of our experiment in order for us to analyze correctly to get the most accurate result as possible and even reflect on our mistakes for us to be more cautious next time we perform a lab experiment.
More importantly, I get to practice to become a leader of the future. This is because I was the one leading and planning every steps my group should take in order to make the lab experiment and lab report successful. This lab report took us about 1 month to complete, it was like a rollercoaster moment through ups and down. However, it was a very fun and knowledgable time through the process.

In Diffusion Lab, I had the opportunity to observe the real-life functioning of osmosis, which occurs when water molecules shift from a high to a low concentration gradient, which we studied in Biology class. Furthermore, I can determine if the solution is hypertonic, hypotonic, or isotonic from this lab.
Importantly, I get to empathise and sympathise with my lab partner while we work together. This is because, we must clearly split our responsibilities in order to collaborate to complete this lab accurately. Overall, I understand how to be a Morally Intelligent Person, as outlined in MUIDS' ESLOS. I had so much fun in this lab and gain tips into building a strong teamwork for the near future.
In this photosynthesis lab, I get to be more of an Altruistic Global Citizen because I get to learn about the relationship between the light intensity (distance) and oxygen produced from the plants by counting the bubbles and record data in 1st, 2nd and 3rd minutes. In the end, we get to add baking soda and surprisingly after we added it, the plant produced more bubbles that rise to around 181 bubbles in just one minute. This lab can be concluded that 20 cm light distance is the most adequate spot for plant during photosynthesis as overall produced more oxygen.
This biology lab have made me to use this knowledge to preserve the ecosystems in the world we live in. My intention illustrates the responsibility and the need to protect the world as connected to MUIDS ESLOS.
