This artwork for me defines my identity in the way that it describes my personalities on how I view things around and expresses different sides of myself since I was young until the near future that I wish myself would become.
The first image I inserted in is my PAST self. This picture of myself when I was younger reminded me of the time I was with the flow with everyday lives. I donโt have to worry about any exams or any problems at all. Furthermore, everytime I looked at this picture, I would feel like I was pulled back to that moment that I spent with the care of my father. To be honest, I always feel at ease whenever this picture appears.
For this piece, I used observational drawings with the application of the shading of reflected light in order for my drawings to be the most accurate as it could be. I used a variety of colors for the shirt part and I also tried to match the color as real as possible for that because those were once my favorite cartoon characters that I wore, therefore, I want the outfits part to stand out.
Secondly, my PRESENT DAY photos. The person in the picture is me during the WEEK WITHOUT WALLS trip at Kanchanaburi. I got to be more of my typical self because I had so much fun with friends on those trips and the message behind my smile was that I got to connect deeply with MUIDS friends and teachers. Moreover, I received the opportunities to participate in diverse activities that allow me to grow into a better articulate communicator as connected to MUIDS ESLOS when working as a team to build up a strong teamwork. Which this growth of mine also led me to become a strategic learner as I got to tackle different tasks that I never tried before in Art class.
More importantly, I drew a thin line for making this drawing because I wanted to gain the most out of the message on the WWWs shirt. However, I tried to also match the color to assemble the real picture and drew the surroundings around me during that moment with tinted lines to show that I also love nature. Last but not least image, my FUTURE self. Right now, I am still figuring out what I want to be in the future. This is the reason why I scatter different pieces of paper on the ground. The tones of those papers match the tree, the hanging metal and the cloud, which this makes the collage look very pleasant to be seen. The pieces will connect when I acknowledge what I want to do in the near future.
However, no matter what I want to be, I want to keep this collage message to myself that I have to always be jolly and love myself despite the hate speeches from others. That is why I put both my past and present self as the center of my frame.
The similarity of my past and present self is that no matter how the time changes, I still can find what I love doing and still can be happy in my everyday lives with the simple events that occur.
My future self for this project comes from combining all of the pieces from past and present together to form a better me.
ย In conclusion, I put these drawings together to form a picture that shows the vivid color to represent the joyfulness of mine that I want it to remain as long as it could be. When I was arranging, I was always questioning myself of how I could make it look like my personality. As I mentioned before, I intended my collage to have the same tones as the surroundings.
