Hours/When to Go

Fitness Center hours for a given week are regularly updated on the official site (https://my.wlu.edu/fitness-center)
Here are the regular hours:
When to Go
(These are trends I've seen from personal experience as someone who mostly goes for free weights, will be looking for data to make this section's information more reliable.)
To be honest, I don't remember the last time I've waited to use something (I really miss that when I'm away from Lex). But if I had to think, some things that might require a wait are:
Squat racks before noon on a weekday with both team lift going on in Section II and the Weight Training PE class happening in Sections I and III
Flat bench press in Section III during peak hours
Unique machines such as the pec deck in Section I
In my opinion (subject to change with more info):
Best times:
Within 2 hours of open and close
The gym's typically less busy when people are either sleeping or studying
Almost anytime on the weekendÂ
Volume is more spaced out across the open period
In between classes, if you're lucky
Busier times:
Before 11:30 AM on weekdays
Weight training is in session during the morning and sometimes varsity team lifts in Section II as well
After class ends (the classic 5 PM rush)
For Section II, check outside the door for the red-yellow-green (or ask a Strength Coach) to figure out availability!
Third Year Fitness Center in Civic A - 24/7!
In case the DARC is closed or you live in Third Year and want to get a convenient workout in, the Third Year Fitness Center in Civic A is open 24/7!
All common spaces of Civic A are swipe-accessible.
This facility (1st floor center and 2nd floor dance studio) is usually uncrowded at any given time of day.
Especially recommended for workouts that don't require a barbell.
The 1st floor main section includes multifunctional machines, cardio equipment, and a couple pairs of free weight dumbbells.
The 2nd floor dance studio includes free weights, resistance bands, and huge mirrors.
