NOTES ON GEORGE SYMINGTON
George was the elder brother of William and co-inventor of their steam carriage.[1] An entry in Carron Company letter books confirms that George Symington was at Falkirk with his brother William in 1809 but there is no reference to George thereafter.
George, a son of George Symington and Barbara Walker of Wanlockhead (who were unmarried at the time) was baptized on 20 December 1786.[2]
