In 1840 Andrew Symington made a clock for the Markinch Town Hall.
In 1843, Mr. Onisipherus Tyndall Bruce engaged him to instal a clock in the new tower at Falkland House. [1]
[1] NRS GD 152/53/4/Bundle 27/5 Letter from A Symington Kettle. He estimates the adoption of the stable clock would cost £20 and explains that he would use the same essential improvements that Mr Vulliamy adopted. A new clock, however, could be more compactly adapted to the new tower.
This clock was sold at auction in Denmark in July 2019 By Lauritz (Lauritz.com)
Height 225 cm, width 52 cm, depth 23 cm.
This clock, a 'belly door' flame mahogany longcase clock with half columns to the trunk and a 'swan neck' hood has full columns either side of the arched and glazed door.
