My project, "Designing without Digital Boundaries," develops a training concept for CAD software use in design education. It addresses the need for more training in architectural education to integrate digital workflows while maintaining design integrity. My research reveals that digital advancement doesn't necessarily enhance architecture education or practice, often leading to a superficial use of computers. I discuss the limitations of digital tools, like loss of emotional depth, but also their potential for inspiring complex designs. The study identifies a gap in architectural education where students lack time to fully utilize digital tools, leading to a shallow understanding. The project suggests methods for quality digital workflow integration without extensive time or new software learning. It includes literature reviews, expert interviews, and covers topics like Building Information Modeling and digital process chains, exploring interactive methods like virtual reality while noting their challenges. Overall, the project examines digital tool integration challenges and opportunities in architecture, proposing a training approach to enhance CAD software use, blending traditional and modern design methods.
