The bridge over the Baldeneysee in Essen, was used as a train connection crossing the lake, it is now only used as a pedestrian, but offers brilliant conditions for a residential living. The location and connection to public transport are unique and highly beneficial for residents in the area. With this design proposal the use of the existing structure is saving building land.

The lake and the surrounding green areas also give the residents a unique quality. It is not necessary to intervene in the existing structure, as the bridge is able to carry the loads of the planned residential housing.
