⛓️ This tool helps you to answer 2 related questions:
"My target has X Dodge. How much Lock do I need to inflict them Y MP / AP losses when they dodge me?"
"My target has X Lock. How much Dodge do I need to only suffer Y MP / AP losses when I dodge them?"
⚙️🐲 You can either input a lock / dodge value of your choice, or choose a lvl 186+ mob in the drop-down list - their lock or their dodge will be input automatically.
Values shown are accurate for a character level 100 or more. Below this level, the calculations are slightly different and I don't know the details.
The purpose of this tool is twofold: on the one hand, you can predict and calculate the MP / AP losses that you will inflict to (or suffer from) a target, because the losses calculations is not a widely known mechanic.
On the other hand, it can be used to optimize lock / dodge.
Here is an example to better illustrate the idea:
All that matters to you is to inflict a 3 MPs loss to a mob who has 900 dodge, and who you are facing (like on the screenshot above).
📈 The calculator shows you that, to inflict a 3 MPs loss to this mob, you need between 1116 and 1752 lock.
Now you know that 1116 is enough. If you had 1300 lock, you can think about lowering your lock and reinvesting in other characteristics (by taking items with less lock but more of other characs, or by reallocating your Agility aptitude points).
Conversely, if you are only short of a few lock points to inflict a higher loss to a mob that you wish you would lock better, you can make some adjustments to increase your lock, reach that lock threshold and better lock that mob.
The same reasoning can be applied to dodge, of course.
📝 The calculator has 2 modes: Lock and Dodge.
Choose the Lock mode if you want to lock an opponent who has X dodge, and you want to see the Lock intervals corresponding to each possible MP / AP loss
Choose the Dodge mode if you want to dodge an opponent who has X lock, and you want to see the Dodge intervals corresponding to each possible MP / AP loss
📝 Then, you have 2 options to define this "X" value of Dodge or Lock of your opponent:
⚙️ "Customizable" allows you to input a Dodge or Lock value of your choice
🐲 "Based on a 186+ mob" lets you select a lvl 186+ mob and automatically inputs their Dodge or their Lock
📝If you have chosen the "Customizable" mode, simply input the Dodge or Lock value of your opponent.
🐲 If you have chosen the "Based on a 186+ mob" mode, first, click on the cell dotted with blue lines next to "Family", then click on the arrow to display the drop-down list of the lvl 186+ mobs families, and choose a family.
Then click on the cell dotted with blue lines next to "Mob", and click on the arrow to display the drop-down list of the mobs of the chosen family, and choose a mob.
📈 The Dodge (or Lock) of the mob is displayed below. Besides, if you are in "Lock" mode, the max MPs and APs of the mob are displayed on the right.
🔄 Then, a last option allows you to define the orientation of the locker: choose the desired orientation (Face / Side / Back) in the cell dotted with blue lines next to "Locker orientation".
📈 Results are displayed below in a "graph" (?? whats the word plz)
A written example is detailed below the calculator to help you to understand the (graph?)
