🛡️ The "Blocking Expert" sublimation (or BE) decreases your elemental resistance by 50, but in return you further reduce damage received from blocked hits by 15 additional %.
A regular block (without BE) only deals 80% of the damage you should have taken. With this sublimation, a blocked hit only hits you for ((80 / 100) x (1 - (15 / 100))) = 0.8 x 0.85 = 68% of the damage that you should have taken.
⚖️ When does this sublimation become worth it?
It depends on both your res and your block %. And this table directly gives you the answer you are looking for.
📈 This block break-even point to reach Blocking Expert effectiveness threshold table shows you, for any flat resistance value, the break-even block % value for which the sublimation becomes worth it.
The flat resistance that you need to look up for in the table is the resistance before the BE res penalty is applied.
📝 In the cell dotted with blue lines next to "Your flat res?", input your flat resistance value before the Blocking Expert sublimation resistance penalty is applied.
📈🛡️🟩 The block % that you need to reach at least for Blocking Expert to become worth it is then displayed below. Besides, the corresponding line from the table will be colored in green.
Please note that the tankiness comparison tool also allows you to check whether BE is worth it or not, but it is less accurate than this table.
The reason is the following: to keep the tankiness comparison tool easy to use, it works with your % resistance (after BE res penalty), while the break-even point table relies on your flat resistance (before BE res penalty).
The tankiness comparison tool does not know your precise flat resistance value, and thus, it cannot precisely know the % resistance to which the BE res penalty will bring you, it can only guess it based on the different % resistance that BE can bring you to. Its BE efficiency assessment is based on these (fairly accurate) guesses.
The break-even point table is not subject to this approximation method, and will always show you the exact break-even points that make the sublimation worth it.
