Volunteers needed!
Put your hard-earned Ham Radio license to work for the community. Yes, it's fun to make contacts across the city, state, country, or even across the world. But sometimes things happen and ham radio is all that's left. It's what's there when nothing else works. The JCARC encourages its members and other active hams to join up and make yourselves available to our local Emergency Net and even get involved with Skywarn and RACES. We will include information on the Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES) as the opportunity presents itself.
Be a Weather Spotter!
SKYWARN® is a volunteer program with between 350,000 and 400,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service.
