Phil and I will teach a beginning Amateur Radio class in January.
Please forward this message (or one of your own) to those whom you think
might be interested.
We teach the basics to get interested people started in this exciting
and fun hobby. With a license youcan serve the public if you choose.
The cost to get started in the hobby and obtain basic equipment keeps
dropping (unlike other things in our lives). We do not assume you know
much about ham radio, but you will find you know more than you think,
and most people who attend all four sessions successfully pass the
license test (those who fail to study during the intervening week have a
harder time).
Our class will meet four times over an 8-day period. We will meet on
Friday, Jan 18 (7-9 PM), Saturday, Jan 19 (9 AM – 1 PM), Friday, Jan 25
(7-9 PM), and Saturday, Jan 26 starting at 9 AM. All class sessions
will meet at 7101 NE 166^th Ave east of Vancouver (98682 ZIP if that
helps find the location).
We do not charge tuition (a frugal ham’s favorite). We recommend you
acquire a study guide available from me and other sources. I have
copies of the ARRL ham radio license manual that I sell for $27 (MSRP
$29.95).
The license test will be offered on the second Saturday that costs $15.
We would enjoy having you in the class. If you want to enroll send an
email and I will add your name to the enrollment list. If you have
questions, please email me and I will answer promptly.

Kelso
Right on the heels of the last Clark County class is another series in Cowlitz County, led by Rick Ouzts, WA7NWN. Rather than the Fri/Sat schedule, these will be Tues/Wed nights, and, instead of having the longer Saturday classes, are scheduled to go for three weeks. Rick will be using a series of videos and several assistants (none of them likely to be cute -- sorry!) to facilitate the instruction.
