Swaptoberfest now also an emergency services fair

I went to http://www.swaptoberfest.net/ to get the dirt on this year's event in Rickreall, held on October 26 from 9AM-3PM, and read this on the front page:

Along with our traditional ham swapmeet, we're becoming a volunteer emergency services fair. -- Seminars, emergency service and disaster preparedness vendors, comm van displays and more...

Best of all, they didn't even use it as an excuse to raise the entry fee! :-)

They have also started a volunteer emergency services blog on the site.

Maybe this is the excuse you need to get your spouse to let you go this year get out and help yourself and others be better prepared in the case of an emergency!
