Rockland Park

Brookfield Residential submitted its application to the City of Calgary on August 2017 proposing development of Rockland Park on 188 hectares  (464 acres) in the Haskayne Area Structure Plan (ASP) in Ward 1.  The development lies immediately north of Valley Ridge on the north side of the Bow River.  The community's name was changed from Rowan Park to Rockland Park to reflect its location on the site of a depleted, commercial gravel pit.  The site is now being remediated in advance of the proposed residential development.

Rockland Park will ultimately be home to +/- 8,900 residents occupying +/- 2,271 units comprised of single family, and multi-residential homes.  A neighborhood commercial development and a CBE school site for K-9 are also planned for the new community.  Rockland Park will be developed in a series of phases over +/- 10 years commencing from east to west across the development.

In order for development to proceed, transportation access to the new community needs to be resolved.  Nose Hill Drive and Bearspaw Dam Road NW will need to be extended through lands under third-party control to provide both transportation and utility connections.
