I used Poly cam to scan my friend's dog, Ke'o, while he was laying on the ground. I then edited the .obj file to remove excess polygons and close the object. It was important to use a .obj file so it would retain the RGB information. I can use the RGB information to then print a full color model of Ke'o at the MIX Center.
This is the first step I took to start to create the model for Ke'o. The scan includes a lot of the surrounding area which is fine because I can always edit it later in a different software.
Sharliz gave me a really helpful tutorial on how to use Blender to remove polygons really quickly which will save me a lot of time. I'm going to try to find a way to add polygons so I can get rid of the melting effect I see on a lot of my scans.
