Born on May 11th, 2047, in Menton, a beautiful French seaside town on the Italian border, she was transformed in 2076 through a sketchy back alley arrangement her father had made, which, thankfully, went off without a hitch. She went to private school while working on the family vineyard. In the midst of the European Union slowly falling apart, she took passage on a tug ship headed for Australia in 2083 to avoid the political turmoil. After proving her skills to Higgins Grainger, and becoming fast friends with Higgins wife, Anahera, she managed to secure passage on the Hygiea.
Élodie Dubois had struggled with weight issues before her transformation. As an Immortal, her perfected form had narrowed her torso while making her big-boned hips appear quite disproportionately large. At only 150 cm tall, she had an almost toy-like appearance, reminiscent of the wooden carvings from her youth that would right themselves when pushed over.
Her large, crooked nose dominated her face, but it was her expressive green eyes and plump, full lips that drew immediate attention. Despite her endearing features, her skin was mottled and often gave her a perpetually dirty look. Her French and Sicilian ancestry was visible in the subtle traces on her skin. Her hair was dark blonde, brittle, and wispy, refusing to grow long.
Despite her physical imperfections, Élodie was a beloved member of her pod, known for her infectious laugh and her unwavering sense of loyalty.
Dusty, a nickname she learned to tolerate, was a cartographer. As Janice was slowly making cartography obsolete, Élodie switched her attention to finally raising a family, and quickly used up their two allotted slots.
She was married to Rajeev Desai, a fellow Immortal, and together they had two daughters - 16-year-old Amélie and 9-year-old Anjali. (circa 2354)
Her transformation had given her a new lease on life, and she embraced every moment with unbridled enthusiasm that was contagious to those around her. She spent much of her time working with her two daughters, sharing her knowledge and experience and encouraging them to pursue their dreams, no matter how improbable they may seem.
Despite her petite stature, Dusty was a force to be reckoned with. Her skill and expertise in cartography were second to none, and her detailed maps were essential to the early development of the colonies.
Dusty's warm personality and infectious laugh made her the heart of her pod. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
