Eskies are crafting blocks used to freeze items.
Fish Traps can be crafted using 2 Kelp, 1 Barrel, 3 String, and 1 Nautilus Shell.
When placed, a Fish Trap will collect fish over time. A Fish Trap requires a 3x1x3 area of Water above it to work, and it will display bubbles when set up properly.
A Fish Trap can fill with up to five fish. Each time it does so, it plays a sound and its texture updates showing how many fish are inside. A Fish Trap has a 5% chance to trap a fish every 10 seconds.
Fish Traps are a lot less efficient if another Fish Trap is within 15 blocks. Make sure you space them out!
Players can right-click the top of a Fish Trap to release any fish caught inside.
The fish type caught is based on the same loot table that catching fish in that area uses. So, for example, a Fish Trap in a River-type biome has a higher chance of catching Salmon.
Breaking a Fish Trap will also release the fish inside.
A Fish Trap cannot catch other items such as treasure or junk.
If a Cat is within 20 blocks and has at least 90 favor, the time it takes for a Fish Trap to catch fish is boosted (see Cat Bartering Mechanics).
