Project Aklatan is an annual project of UP KMS instilling its four principles – dinamiko, historikal, kritikal at maka-Pilipino. It aims to give assistance to the school communities from grassroots level by providing them academic materials whilst immersing in the community and engaging with the children and their parents through dialogues and narratives to further understand their social context, thus applying sociological imagination. UP KMS believes that access to education is a right and that these children should not be deprived of their right to learn. This year’s Project Aklatan recipient is Basyo Elementary School and Dike Elementary School in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
