In recent years, we have seen how social media has become a platform for various social movements - a phenomenon called cyberactivism has emerged. Here, websites such as Twitter and Facebook are used for activism for faster communication and information dissemination. This seems to be a rising phenomenon around the world - from the Black Lives Matter and Me Too movement in America and #NeverForget and #NeverAgain campaign against the Marcoses in the Philippines. Through #Boycott: Cyberactivism as a Social Movement, we aimed to explore how social media has indeed become a platform for social movements. This forum seeks to investigate if and how the virtual and online activities of individuals affect and translate into actions that will bring about change in society.
