Lecture “Quality Management Principles, Tools and Systems”, Tzvetelin Gueorguiev
The first lecture was a discussion on the eight quality management principles outlined in ISO 9000:2005, their official interpretation by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and parallels with popular proverbs and sayings. The general idea is to highlight the importance of standards and on their feature to concentrate the experience of humankind and of industry leaders in particular.
The second lecture built on the aforementioned principles and presented some of the fundamental terms, structures and techniques recommended by ISO for the practical application of a QMS.
The third lecture demonstrated how the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle can be applied to flowcharting practically all QMS processes, fitting the flowchart in the so called SIPOC diagram (abbreviated from Supplier - Inputs - Process steps - Outputs - Customer).
The fourth lecture has presented how a specific quality record - the control plan - prescribed for use by the AIAG and ISO/ TS 16949, can prove that many standard requirement are implemented and managed using the PDCA sequence of steps.
The audience of A.T.E.I. students and professors has been briefed on historical and current trends in the development of quality and quality related initiatives in Bulgaria and at the University of Ruse.
The series of lecturers concluded with an attractive video called 'The Handy Guide to Quality' by the organizers of the World Quality Day - the CQI.
