2024 Senior Scholarship Winners

After high school I plan to attend LoneStar College to finish my associates degree for Welding and Agribusiness. Through my high schools dual enrollment program I’ve already completed 34 of my 60 hours. My goal is to take the knowledge I've learned through the TXHSWS and college to open my own Fab Shop one day. 

Jorge Ramirez

Cypress Park High School

Cypress Park High School senior Jorge Ramirez has competed in the Texas High School Welding Series for two seasons.  Jorge is proficient in all 4 welding processes and is certified in the SMAW and GTAW welding processes.  He will be joining the Pipefitters Union in July to begin his apprenticeship.  Jorge has been saving money to purchase the tools needed for his apprenticeship program.

My plans after high school is going to TSTC for an AAS Welding Technology course, future plans of being a CWI.

I have been welding for the past three years. After High school I plan to attend TSTC to become a future Pipeliner or to weld pipes with GTAW and SMAW.

My plan after high school is to pursue my welding career in fabrication and welding repair.  My goal  after 15 years is to learn enough to open my own fabrication shop and become a CWI.

My plan after high school is to continue my welding career as a pipeline welder and finish with an associates degree in welding so in the future I can own my own pipeline business for women in the industry 

Isaiah Chavez

Isaiah Chavez is a graduating Senior at Tularosa High School. His plan after graduation include going to college to study welding at New Mexico State University Alamogordo. Upon completing a degree in welding, he plans to pursue a career in the welding industry. In the future he would like to work to build his own shop and create a welding business of his own. Isaiah is currently enrolled in Metal Fabricationin his Agriculture Education class at Tularosa High School and is very achieved. Isaiah has participated in two weld off this year, one in El Paso at Sun City Welding Academy and Snyder Tiger Junkyard build off. Both times his team achieved 3 Rd place overall. Isaiah likes welding because he gets to create new projects and likes to see them come to life.

After high school I am planning to attend Tulsa welding school in Dallas, Texas to further my education in welding. I’ve taken 38 out of  61 hours of dual enrollment welding through Frank Phillips College throughout my high school career. I want to expand my horizons, travel and do whatever welding/fabricating i can get my hands on after i get out of my trade school!

Throughout high school, I immersed myself in numerous projects, developing my skills and craftsmanship. It was during my senior year that I seized the opportunity to work extensively with a CNC machine, discovering a newfound enjoyment in precision machining. Looking ahead, I aspire to continue exploring CNC technology, blending it with my welding expertise to forge an innovative and fulfilling career path.

The Andrew Noppe Memorial Scholarship

R&N Manufacturing will be offering two scholarship’s in honor of Andrew Noppe. One for $1,500 and the other for $1,000. The scholarships will be awarded at the end of the school year at the TXHSWS Awards Reception or virtually pending the virus!

To be considered for the Andrew Noppe Memorial Scholarship, students must:

1. Be a graduating senior of the current year applying2. Provide proof of enrollment at four-year college, community college or technicalschool3. Work Tool Grants: Students must show proof of employment and or plans for industry related plans for work.4. Complete the form and have it submitted by the determined date of the TXHSWS Scholarship deadline.

Andrew Noppe:

 Andrew worked for the family business since he was in high school. He started as a shop helper, moved to shipping and receiving, learned how to weld and eventually became the shop Supervisor overseeing the fabrication of products.

He was a major reason for R&N’s success and due to that we hope that these scholarships will honor Andrew’s legacy and in turn allow students to continue their studies and succeed in their chosen career field.

Fab Services - Helping Hands Scholarship

5th Annual Fabricators of Houston Clay Shoot Raised Enough Money for the TXHSWS to give an additional $20,000 to 2023- 2024 Seniors looking to start a career in the welding or related field.
