Welding Certification and Events

The TXHSWS wants everyone to stay safe and healthy as they grow in skills and knowledge. Our events have special protocols in place that meet/exceed the State and Local requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Registration Form MUST be submitted before the late registration date of Tuesday, June 8th by noon. NO registration will be accepted after this date!

Bring Liability Waiver and Release form completed and signed the day of the Event!

Double Check (Name Spelling, Events registered to compete in, TWS Number, etc)


CERTIFICATIONS EARNED: 

30% of all students in attendance earned certifications!

WHAT TO BRING:

Underwater Welding Dress Code and Checklist Note: You will be diving in your personal clothing. Wet suits are not required.
  • Towel
  • Clothes to get wet in
  • Wear shoes you’re willing to get wet, you will dive in these.
  • No open-toed shoes
  • Change of clothes
  • Long sleeve shirt to dive in
  • Overalls/jeans/long pants (no shorts or bathing suits)

Standard welding PPE  (Top side welding):
  • Standard welding clothing
  • Standard welding equipment
  • Safety glasses required

IMPORTANT INFO: 

Welding Levels 1,2,&3 will allow chipping hammers and wire brushes. In addition to that Levels 1, 2, & 3 will allow battery powered grinders with wire wheels, and Level 4 will be Underwater so no  wire brushes or chipping hammers will be required or needed.
