These are the sources of of further information and also examples of inspiration.
If you are thinking of planting Apple Trees or other fruit trees, I would read this first https://www.theorchardproject.org.uk/guides_and_advice/choosing-apple-varieties-to-plant/
How many do you want, when do you want them, and what are you doing with them?
Also a really excellent website for an explanation why many heritage varieties are no longer grown.

"Since World War II, conventional farming has often been a case of chemical warfare - a search and destroy method to eradicate pests and disease in a quest to produce cheaper food. Modern farming has taken place almost exclusively in the absence of nature, much to our, and the British countryside's, detriment." James Smith, Loddington Farm

Rothbury Tree Wardens
Erddig Hall, Wrexham. National Trust. Has about 180 apple varieties. They hold Apple Days in October.
It is unfortunately really hard to find details about- The Dates - They are held on 2 weekends in October but they only seem to advertise it as though it is 1 day or at most 1 weekend. And there is even less information about the apples.
The Head Gardner was very knowledgeable and very generous with his time, as were the jam and chutney stall people.
Apple pressers had very impressive mills Speidel 2.2kW Fruit Mill (vigopresses.co.uk) & presses . Lucky I took a photo of the labels.
I learnt more after looking at the Vigo Presses website.
I would say its a display and not a learning experience.
