A French variety with a very attractive golden colour.
A chance seedling discovered in France and introduced by the French nurseryman Masset of Oullins in 1860. Fruits have firm, not very juicy flesh with a sweet and moderate flavour.
Performs well in cooler climates so you can expect to see good crops
A strong, fruity flavour with a mild sweetness
Perfect for eating fresh from the tree or cooking/making jams

Crops may not be quite as prolific as some varieties, but Gage Oullins Golden makes up for it with reliability, producing a good crop every year and boasts large golden fruits with sweet and juicy yellow flesh. The fruits are delicious eaten straight from the tree but also freeze well too.
This variety is self-fertile and does not require a pollination partner.
