This tree was planted on 20th November 2021 by Wirral Wildlife to celebrate their 50th Anniversary & also as part of Queen’s Green Canopy project
Raised by Charles Ross at Newbury, Berkshire, England. First recorded in 1900. Introduced by Clibrans of Altrincham. Received an Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1900. Fruits have firm, fine-textured, juicy flesh with a slightly acid

This shows the tree as a "maiden" just a straights stem. To form a good shape the stem needs to be pruned at chin height. This encourages side branches to form.
