Keys to promote reading competition in educational centres.
The increasingly complex social realities of our time make it necessary to resolve all aspects that can be improved through education from the educational system, for which various programs and plans have been designed and continuously improved. We refer to programs that aim to stimulate teachers and their students to adapt to new social needs, starting with the individual's own knowledge, creating a space for reflection, promoting teamwork, communication and listening. In addition, it seeks to foster creativity, initiative and encouraging action, among other aspects. In short, they are open work projects that provide a framework for action that can be developed in various ways over time. In particular, we will focus in this section on those that promote reading literacy in schools.
We know that cultivating writing and reading skills is an important function of contemporary education because they are tools for acquiring culture; schoolchildren reading in different formats, writing texts with different structures and purposes, or learning foreign languages from an early age. Therefore, there is a need for programs, supported by current regulations, for the development of competence in linguistic communication with the primary objective of offering strategies and methodological resources that can complement the school curriculum with support measures for the improvement of reading, writing and oral language.
