Language facilitates the learning of all areas of the curriculum. Oral and written communication in Infant and Primary Education stages must be approached in an integrated way, with projects incorporating the knowledge of different disciplines. Families, teachers and society must be involved in reading education. The learning situations generated favour group work and peer-learning, and are attentive to different styles and patterns of learning. Interactive group work leads to functional learning; groupings are suggested in a variety of sizes, including: pairs, small groups and large groups.
