Hi, I’m Analia! I’m a senior engineering major at Smith and I’m interested in biomedical engineering. The project I’m working on consists on creating proteins that can deliver therapeutic drugs to the brain. This would make possible to treat diseases of the central nervous system such as Alzheimer's disease. More specifically, I am working on a collaboration project with the Buck lab to create a protein and polymer conjugate that could act as a transport mechanism to the brain.

As an engineering student at Smith, I have taken classes such as circuits, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, organic chemistry, and genetics. I also have taken classes in the economics, philosophy, dance, and sports studies departments.

I’ve been working as a tutor for the Spinelli Center since my sophomore year. This jobs involves tutoring students in quantitative subjects such as physics, calculus, chemistry, and engineering core courses. I also work as a library assistant at the Young science library.

Fun facts: I’m from Paraguay, so my first language is Spanish. During my free time I enjoy swimming, biking, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
