Alexis Ziemba, Ph.D.
Visiting Assistant Professor | Neuroscience Program
Hi, I'm Alexis! I am a former Smith neuroscience student. After a few years of trying a LOT of different jobs, I ended up in a neural engineering lab to get my Ph.D. Starting as a postdoctoral scholar working in the Moore and Buck Labs , I am developing protein-polymer conjugates to target the blood-brain barrier and cancer cells and am teaching cell and molecular neuroscience courses for the neuroscience program.
My research has always involved microscopy, so I love doing outreach that involves microscope demos to inspire all with the beauty of science.
I also like baking, biking, boxing, and beluga whales!
