Last week Mom was convinced it was September and she was having difficulty knowing what day of the week it was.
Finally, yesterday, I noticed her calendar at the foot of her bed had been changed from August to September. Mom must have done it last week and I didn't notice.
We had a good laugh and I changed the calendar back to show August, and then I circled the day's date on the calendar. After that, Mom knew the day and month for the rest of the day.
This morning she couldn't remember the day of the week so I took the highlighter pen and marked it for her so she could see exactly where we are on the calendar. I used a different coloured highlighter to add definition.
After that she knew what day of the week it is, what day of the month it is, and what month it is.
I asked her, "How does it feel, when you look at the calendar, and you can see what day of the week it is?"
Mom replied, "That's easy for me."
"Does it help you?"
"Yes it does, because you have made the mark that lets me say, "Oh". I can say, "Oh", and keep my time warm."
